Dance : Annual Festival Cycle Feasibility Study for Woking Dance Festival

LCA were asked to deliver a report to WDF’s Board, and provide practical recommendations, on an analysis of the benefits and risks of an annual festival cycle for the Woking Dance Festival. (2005/6)


Film and the Moving ICultiumage
Edinburgh International Film Festival / Filmhouse Capital Development project

Investigating the options and possibilities for a closer association between these two important film organisations in Scotland, and the exploration of some capital developments incorporating both. LCA was also the Project Manager on their £400,000 Scottish Arts Council Lottery Advancement Programme strategy (1999 - 2004)


Architecture, Design and the Built Environment. : Architecture Centre Network

Contract establishing the strategic development of the UK Network of Architecture Centres, (the second largest in the world!). Involves close liaison with bodies such as DCMS, CABE, Arts Council England, the RIBA and the RDA’s. (2002- 2006).


Culture and Regeneration : The Creative Foundation, Folkestone

Contract advising, and coordinating, specific development aspects of a major cultural quarter project in Folkestone. (2005)


Cultural Strategy : Manchester City Council Arts and Cultural Strategy

Significant  study (with Urban Cultures Ltd), in 1992/3 producing the first Cultural Strategy for the City of Manchester, focusing on the economic context of the city council's involvement in cultural work, including an embryonic cultural industries strategy.


Culture & Sport : Lee Valley Regional Park Authority Development Plan

A commission to produce the first Arts Plan for this major strategic leisure park. The Park stretches 25 miles from the River Thames to Hertfordshire. (1992)


Cultural Festivals : Brighton Festival

Production of a development plan; then creation, management and production of a programme of contemporary musics in a range of venues including the Dome, Theatre Royal, Gardner Arts Centre, etc.  Artists were many and varied but included Michael Nyman, Drummers of Burundi, Buena Vista Social Club  (1998 - 2001)


Cultural Diversity : The Drum Arts and Media Centre, Birmingham

Development of the £4.5 million arts centre in the centre of Birmingham in conjunction with Newtown South Aston City Challenge, West Midlands Arts, West Midlands Probation Service and Birmingham City Council for this new centre focusing on African, Caribbean and Asian arts. The initial contract commenced in 1992/3 and the building opened in March/April 1998. (Resolve Consortium Ltd)


Comedy : Leicester Comedy Festival Ltd

Production of a new three year Business Plan which transformed the organisation from a parochial performing arts festival organisation into a strategically relevant regional creative and media business. (2002)


Circus Arts : Circus Space, London

Development of the Business Plan for the organisation, incorporating the final phase of building works to the Hoxton Square premises, with particular emphasis on marketing and programme. Now in operation! (1996) (with Steve Penty Associates)


Contemporary Music : Many festivals including Texaco Docklands Jazz Festival

An innovative programme at the musical sharp end staged at venues in London between 1989 and 1993 including the Design Museum,Half Moon Theatre, Canary Wharf . (1989-2003)


Digital Arts and New Media : Portsmouth Media Development Strategy

Developing and implementing a media strategy for the city, incorporating the city's £120 million Millennium Commission funded Renaissance of Portsmouth Harbour project. In conjunction with the University of Portsmouth, the City Council, the British Film Institute, and Southern Arts, as well as other agencies in the city and region (1996/7/8).


Street Arts : Brighton Creation Centre

Feasibility Study developing the strategic vision, and exploring the options for a Creation Centre focusing on street arts and outdoor spectacle; clients were University of Brighton; and Brighton and Hove City Council . (2003/4 )


Training and Development in the Creative Industries

Projects – both in schools, and in the community. Peter Luxton was one of the founders of the innovative Community Music organisation in the early eighties. Peter Luxton has also organised a range of education programmes - summer schools, festival projects, schools programmes.
